2010 ATS Chardonnay
The 2010 ATS Chardonnay boasts bright floral notes, magnolias come to mind, with peach, melon, honeysuckle and beeswax. Given the chilliness of the vintage it’s no surprise how youthful and structured the wine is, with creamy, lush tones of white peach, nectarine and citrus finishing with a flinty minerality.
2009 Two Estates
Two Estates refers to a blend of Bordeaux varieties grown on our Estate Vineyards. For 2009 I’ve blended Merlot from our Carneros Estate with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from our Brandlin Vineyard on Mt. Veeder. The ’09 Merlot takes a star turn at roughly 88% of the blend with equal parts Cabernet and Petit Verdot to fill out the wine. A fairly cool vintage with a pleasant autumn, it was a perfect year for ripening Merlot; plum, blueberry, black cherry and currant are all evident and backed nicely with hints of lavender, licorice and cardamom. The Cabernet and Petit Verdot make for perfect dancing partners, broadening the wine's palate, adding some structural tannin and lengthening the finish.
